Secret email about the Post Office Scandal. Shh!

Remember, remember 18 November

CoA showdown: booked in

Hello everyone

Thanks to everyone who has been in touch re the COVID situation in our house.

Unfortunately Child 1’s test came back positive, so we are all isolating for a bit. She is isolating from us, too, which means spending around 22 hours a day in her room. Not great, but the cough has gone and she is feeling better. She just needs to regain her sense of taste and smell.

Anyway – I’ve put a piece up about the big legal arguments being made behind the scenes in the run up to 18 November, when the parties gather at the Court of Appeal to discuss quashing 44+ Subpostmasters convictions.

I’ll be there, of course.

Inquiry media coverage

Oh and just so you know, after I queried the exact nature of media access to the Post Office Horizon IT inquiry, publication of evidence etc, Sir Wyn Williams got in touch to suggest the media make representations to him over what sort of access they wanted.

I’ve sent an email to all the journalists I know who are covering this story alerting them to the need to make their representations to the inquiry secretariat by 5.30pm on Friday. If you are a journalist reading this and you didn’t get my email yesterday, please get in touch.

I know lots of people are boycotting the inquiry, but lots aren’t. I suspect what some of those participants have to say will be of interest and so you’ll need someone there to witness it all, if Sir Wyn lets us in.

I hope you enjoy the new post. It took me all day to get my head round all the nuances, but that’s fine, because I ain’t going anywhere for a bit.

Best

Nick
