As police confirm third suspect interviewed

Just a very quick one. I am grateful to Karl Flinders for spotting an extraordinary paragraph in a witness statement to the public inquiry published on Friday.
He saw that the current Post Office Company Secretary had told the inquiry about “allegations that a senior Post Office member of staff had instructed their team to destroy or conceal material of possible interest to the Inquiry, and that the same individual had engaged in inappropriate behaviour.“
She added: “I understand that this is being dealt with appropriately given its serious nature. The POL employee in question has been suspended.“
Karl immediately wrote this up, and I followed it yesterday with a question for the Post Office – given that this appears to be a description of potentially criminal behaviour, had they informed the police?
The answer is in this newly published blog post.
Got to leave it there
I know, I know. I’m sorry. There’s been so much going on and there is lots swirling around in the public domain to tell you about. Unfortunately I’ve been travelling and preparing for a couple of events and I simply haven’t had time to get a proper newsletter together. I will attempt to rectify that tomorrow. I just thought you might be interested in this latest new line right now.
Don’t forget, Post Office CEO Nick Read starts three day stint giving evidence to the Inquiry in about 15 minutes. Watch it all live here!
All best
Nick
